Forged precision

How Vulcan looks, sounds and shows its work, across medical devices, custom hardware and toys.

Orange · Silver · Forge black

Two halves of one V

The Vulcan mark is built from two blades that meet at a point. Silver is the cold, measured side of the business. Orange is the hot side, where material is melted, fused and turned into something new. Every piece of the brand uses both.

Silver · Precision

Measured, regulated, repeatable
  • Medical-grade manufacturing
  • Custom hardware and enclosures
  • Inspection, traceability, documentation

Orange · Heat

Melted, fused, invented
  • Proprietary print processes
  • Vulcan materials
  • Toys and collectibles

Vulcan builds the parts that have to work, from a surgical guide to a kid's favorite figure, with the same care.

01

Exact

We state tolerances, lead times and materials as numbers. If we can't hold a spec, we say so before we quote.

02

Accountable

Every part is traceable to a build, a lot and an inspector. Our medical discipline applies to the whole shop.

03

Inventive

Our own materials and processes let us make parts other shops turn down. We show that ingenuity with confidence.

Color

Vulcan is a dark brand. Forge Black and graphite carry most of the surface, silver carries type and structure, and orange marks heat: the one action, state or detail you want someone to notice. Click a swatch to copy its hex value.

Finishes

The logo is rendered as brushed metal, so the brand has two metallic finishes. Use them for display type and hero objects only. Body text, labels and data are always flat color.

Brushed
--metal: linear-gradient(180deg,
  #fbfbfc 0%, #d9dce0 36%, #7d8189 50%,
  #b3b7be 60%, #f1f2f4 100%);

For headlines of 32 px and larger. The dark band at 50% suggests a horizon reflection. Keep it horizontal.

Molten
--heat: linear-gradient(180deg,
  #ffc05a 0%, #ff9a3c 28%,
  #ff6a13 55%, #c9430a 100%);

For primary buttons, the V mark's right blade and a single hero word at most. Never use it for a full paragraph or a whole page background.

Typography

Three families, all free on Google Fonts. Unbounded matches the wide, heavy stance of the wordmark. Chakra Petch has cut corners like the V mark and handles specs, labels and numbers. Hanken Grotesk keeps long copy calm and readable.

Interface

The cut corner is Vulcan's signature shape. It comes from the angled ends of the V's blades. Buttons, cards and tags use it in place of rounded corners. Pills are the one exception, and they are used for navigation only.

Buttons

Silver is the default primary. Use Orange once per page, for the action that starts a job. Ghost is for everything else.

  • Layer 064/064 · Z 28.000 mm
  • Tolerance ±0.05 mm

Show real part data as small labels next to product imagery. Use tabular figures. Orange marks a live or in-progress value.

Imagery

One object, one light. Parts are shot like jewelry: on black, lit from the side so the metal shows, with a warm orange edge light that suggests the heat that made them.

Example of the lighting style: object on black with side light and an orange rimReference lighting · key left, orange rim right

Do

  • Black or deep graphite backgrounds
  • Hard side light that shows layer lines and machining marks
  • Macro detail: lattices, threads, surface texture
  • Real facility photos: the print floor, the cleanroom, inspection

Don't

  • White "e-commerce" backgrounds for hero images
  • Stock photos of people pointing at screens
  • Orange light on medical devices in clinical settings
  • Glowing sci-fi effects or blue light

Medical

Mostly silver. Cool, clean, clinical. Orange appears only in the logo and the primary button.

Hardware

The default balance. Orange marks live states and key specs.

Toys

The most orange. Brighter light, more playful angles and product in motion.

Voice

Vulcan writes like a senior engineer who is good with customers: direct, specific and calm. We say what we can make, how fast and to what spec.

Lead with the number

Tolerances, lead times, unit counts and standards come first. Adjectives come last, if at all.

Plain over clever

A buyer should understand every sentence the first time. Explain jargon or don't use it.

Adjust the heat

Medical copy is exact and restrained. Toy copy can be warmer and more fun, but it stays specific.

Always put the V mark on Forge Black inside a tile or circle, so the silver blade doesn't vanish on light-mode UIs.
